The Noa, also appears in the fluvial map, being born in the parish of Pastor and ending in the Tambre itself. As for the climate, it is the characteristic of the area, oceanic and humid. Historical evolution:
In times of the Old Régime, O Pino belonged to the Province of Santiago, although with certain peculiarities, as we will see later on. After the promulgation of the Constitution of 1812, it was integrated in an united province of Galicia. Later on, when Galicia was divided into four provinces, two royal decrees were promulgated, one in 1822 and another in 1833 locating the city council inside the province of A Coruña, to which it still belongs.
Previously, in 1820, the Delegation distributed the territory in judicial parties or divisions. At first O Pino was included in that of Sar. Its official name was city council of San Vicente do Pino. Later, with a new distribution in 1834, it became part of the judicial division of Arzúa. There was a change to that of Santiago in 1965, but it only lasted 23 years, once since the Law 38/1988 of 28 of December, O Pino is once again part of the judicial division of Arzúa.
At first, at the beginning of the XIX century, when the current constitutional city councils were promulgated, O Pino didn't have the parishes that it has now. At that moment they were: Sabugueiro, Pino, Carballal, Castrofeito, Ferreiros (San Breixo), Ferreiros (San Mamede), Beseño, Dodro, Pastor, Oines, Medín, Gonzar, Lardeiros, Cesar, Barciela and Budiño. During the Old Régime, O Pino had several parishes dependent of six jurisdictions. They were those of Bendaña, Budiño, Cira, Medín, Mesía, Pastor and Lardeiros, all in Santiago's province. The distribution was as follows:

No later variations took place in the composition of the city council. There was, nevertheless, an agreement of the Delegation of A Coruña in March of 1842, on the suppression of municipalities, in which O Pino theoretically would disappear and its parishes would be distributed between Arzúa and a supposed new city council of Loxo. An agreement that, as it remains clear, never became reality.
On the municipal capital, the historical references vary. Madoz indicates us that the city council celebrates its sessions in San Vicente's do Pino congregation. El Carreras whose capital is Santa Irene, belonging to the parish of Arca. In the different Nomenclatures, appear as capital: A Igrexa (from 1860), Santa Irene (from 1900) and Pedrouzo. In this last place it remained several years in a building located in front of the pilgrims hostel, being transferred to the present location during the 70's.
